چکیده

A low-temperature, Si-deficient variety of vesuvianite occurs in porous tetrahedral “achtarandite” pseudomorphs consisting of hibschite, along the banks of the Wiluy River, Yakutia, Russia, the type locality of grossular and wiluite. The (H4O4)-for(SiO4) hydrogarnet-type substitution is evident in the vesuvianite, a substitution that allows it to be considered an analogue of hibschite. This variety of vesuvianite belongs to a new series in the vesuvianite group, as expressed by the formula X19Y13T0–5(Si2O7)4(SiO4)10–x(OH)4xW10. The filling of the X, Y, and T positions in this Si-deficient vesuvianite, where x varies from 0.67 to 2.89, is analogous to that in vesuvianite and wiluite. The Si-deficient vesuvianite is characterized by increased unitcell parameters, a 15.688(3), c 11.860(3) Å and by lower indices of refraction, 1.691(1), 1.668(1). In the OH-region, the FTIR and Raman spectra differ sharply from those of low-temperature vesuvianite from rodingites, but are similar to the spectra of hibschite. A line near 3620 cm–1 indicates that the substitution occurs only in the isolated tetrahedra. More than 25% of these can be substituted by (H4O4).

MORPHOLOGY, COMPOSITION AND STRUCTURE OF LOW-TEMPERATURE P4/nnc HIGH-FLUORINE VESUVIANITE WHISKERS FROM POLAR YAKUTIA, RUSSIA

Whiskers and needles of F-rich vesuvianite were found together with diopside in cavities of an altered magnesian skarn in the Tas–Khayakhtakh Mountains of Polar Yakutia, in Russia. The acicular crystals are strongly zoned and formed between two generations of diopside. The chemical composition of the vesuvianite whiskers is more homogeneous and resembles that of the outermost rim of the vesuvia...

Crystal chemistry of a Mg-vesuvianite and implications of phase equilibria in the system CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2-H2O-CO21

Chemical analysis (including H,, F,, FeO, Fe,O,) of a Mg-vesuvianite from Georgetown, Calif., USA, yields a formula, R . 9 ? M g l . Adsorption of ethanol by using BN nanotube: a DFT study

Electrical sensitivity of a boron nitride nanotube (BNNT)  was examined toward C2H5OH molecules by using density functional theory (DFT)  calculations . It was founding that the adsorption energy(Ead) of ethanol on the  pristine  nanotubes  is about -51.5 kJ / mol, but when  the nanotube has been doped  with Si and Al atoms , the adsorption  and recovery time ch...

Recently, the junior author had an opportunity to study material of Staphylinidae, which was given to him by the Yakutian entomologist Dr. Sargylana Nogovitsyna (Institute of Biological Problems of Cryolithozone, Yakutsk, Russia). Three species of the genus Ontholestes Ganglbauer, 1895 were included in this material from South-western and Northeastern Yakutia (Republic of Sakha, Russia): O. ina...
